Abstract

Instead of viewing astrology as merely a means of prediction, the Vedic traditions hold it in the highest regard as an integral component of human culture, society, and spirituality. One of the six Vedangas that provide light on cosmic and ritual order, Jyotisha (also known as Vedic astrology) draws its inspiration from the ancient Indian scriptures known as the Vedas. explores the significance of astrology in Vedic traditions as well as its broader socio-cultural influence on individuals' beliefs, actions, and daily decisions. the significance of Vedic astrology as a foundation for several aspects of life, including as marriage, careers, health, and religious rites. Every aspect of cultural practices is influenced by astrological principles, such as natal charts (kundli), auspicious timings (muhurat), and planetary positions. By bringing together cosmic ideas with human experience, astrology promotes a sense of oneness and interconnectedness. Cultural and sociological elements of astrology are also discussed, highlighting the ways in which it contributes to the preservation of traditions, the reinforcement of social standards, and the development of a shared identity among groups. It also considers the transmission of astrological information from older generations and how it has changed to accommodate the present, especially in regard to digital media and modern lifestyles.
