Publication Policies

Focus and scope
The Revista Infoacceso aims to share and communicate knowledge through its publications to promote research activity in the field of Library Science and contribute to the development of scientific production in Latin America and the Caribbean. 
It publishes academic-scientific articles in Spanish & English, both empirical and theoretical, that are unpublished and related to Information Science.

Peer review process
The Journal has a double - blind peer review  system , carried out by recognized academics and professionals in various areas of Information Science, both national and international, who make up our Portfolio of Referees.

First step: The rules
The evaluation process begins with the receipt and acceptance of submissions that comply with the Author Guidelines . Otherwise, the manuscript is returned to the author for revision.

Second step: The editor
After compliance with the rules, the manuscript is reviewed by the Editor, Section Editor or Director of the journal, in order to determine the relevance of the work within any of the Information Sciences, in addition to the originality of the manuscript. 

Third step: 1st reviewer
The revised manuscript is sent anonymously to an ad hoc reviewer , depending on the thematic content addressed by the work. The reviewer may issue three options: 
• Approval
• Recommends correction
• Suggests a 2nd review
• Rejection

Fourth step: 2nd reviewer
If the first referee recommends a second opinion, the manuscript is sent, also anonymously, to an expert reviewer external to the Referees' Portfolio . 

Fifth step: Final review
The opinions issued by the referees in the first or second instance are received by the Editor for final review and forwarding to the style editor.

Sixth step: Author's review
The manuscript resulting from the style editor's review is sent to the corresponding author via email for approval and subsequent publication.

Open access policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving
This journal uses the LOCKSS, CLOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among collaborating libraries, allowing them to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.

Publication frequency
The Journal has a quarterly publication frequency ; it publishes three issues per volume, and the volumes are published annually.

Submission and Publication charges
The journal does not charge authors any fees for:
• Submission and evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
• Processing of submitted items.

Publication format
The Revista Infoacceso publishes a digital version, in PDF format with ISSN 2311-7605 , and does not have a print version.

Self-archiving permission
Authors may deposit two post-print  versions of the submitted manuscripts:
• The final version after peer review , provided that the Editor indicates to the corresponding author that the manuscript will not undergo content changes.
• The Editor's final version , provided it is the manuscript published in PDF format on the journal's website.
