Ensemble Learning Techniques for Improved Classification Accuracy
Keywords:
Ensemble Learning; Classification Accuracy; Machine Learning; Bagging; Boosting; Random ForestAbstract
Ensemble learning has emerged as one of the most effective approaches in machine learning for improving classification accuracy, model robustness, and predictive performance by combining multiple learning algorithms into a unified predictive framework. Unlike single classifiers, ensemble methods leverage the collective intelligence of diverse base learners to minimize prediction errors, reduce variance and bias, and enhance generalization capability. Prominent ensemble techniques, including Bagging, Boosting, Stacking, Voting, Random Forest, AdaBoost, Gradient Boosting, Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM), and CatBoost, have demonstrated exceptional success across numerous classification tasks. These techniques capitalize on the diversity of individual models, enabling more reliable and accurate predictions than those achieved by standalone machine learning algorithms. Consequently, ensemble learning has become an integral component of modern predictive analytics and decision support systems.
