Abstract

Green innovation has emerged as a strategic imperative for manufacturing industries seeking to achieve sustainable competitive advantage in an increasingly dynamic and environmentally conscious global business environment. Escalating environmental challenges, stringent government regulations, resource scarcity, and growing stakeholder expectations have compelled manufacturing firms to shift from conventional production systems toward environmentally sustainable innovation. Green innovation encompasses the development and implementation of eco-friendly products, cleaner production processes, energy-efficient technologies, sustainable resource utilization, waste minimization practices, and circular economy initiatives that simultaneously enhance environmental performance and organizational competitiveness. Rather than viewing sustainability as a regulatory obligation or an additional cost, progressive manufacturing organizations increasingly recognize green innovation as a source of long-term value creation, operational excellence, market differentiation, and resilience.
