Abstract

Climate change has emerged as one of the most significant challenges affecting global supply chains, exposing organizations to increasing risks associated with extreme weather events, resource scarcity, environmental degradation, geopolitical instability, and disruptions in transportation and production networks. These challenges have highlighted the limitations of conventional supply chain models that primarily emphasize cost efficiency and operational effectiveness while often overlooking environmental and social sustainability. In response, Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) has gained considerable importance as an integrated approach that incorporates environmental, social, and economic considerations into supply chain planning, sourcing, production, distribution, and end-of-life product management. By adopting sustainable supply chain practices, organizations can enhance resilience, reduce environmental impacts, improve stakeholder relationships, and achieve long-term competitive advantage in an increasingly uncertain business environment.
