Young people's lives are now dominated by social media, which has a big impact on how they talk to each other, connect, and build their identities. Teens and young adults can express themselves, share their experiences, and connect with different social networks on sites like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). As digital technologies become more important in daily life, it has become important for sociologists to study how social media affects how people form their identities. Identity formation is an important part of growth that helps people figure out who they are, what their social roles are, and where they fit in society. By making it easier to get information, interact with others, and learn about other cultures, social media has changed this process and brought with it new possibilities and challenges.  from a scientific point of view, how social media affects how young people form their identities. It looks at how internet platforms affect how people present themselves, their self-esteem, how they compare themselves to others, how they interact with their peers, and how they build their personal and social identities. The ways that teens and young adults use social media to build and share their identities while navigating cultural norms, digital environments, and social expectations. A lot of thought is put into how social media affects gender identities, national identities, lifestyle choices, and how successful and like you are in life.
