Abstract

Astrology has long associated zodiac signs with characteristic patterns of personality, temperament, preferences, and behaviour. In contemporary society, zodiac-based personality descriptions remain popular through horoscopes, social media, mobile applications, and online astrology platforms. This paper examines the perceived relationship between zodiac signs and personality traits, focusing on zodiac symbolism, individual differences, emotional characteristics, communication styles, relationships, career preferences, cultural influences, self-perception, and the limitations of astrological interpretation. Zodiac descriptions can provide individuals with a symbolic language for discussing personal characteristics and may encourage self-reflection. At the same time, personality is influenced by many factors, including genetics, environment, learning, culture, social relationships, and life experiences. Therefore, zodiac signs should not be treated as scientifically established causes of personality. The paper presents astrology primarily as a cultural and interpretive framework while distinguishing it from evidence-based psychological personality assessment. A balanced perspective can recognize the social and reflective popularity of zodiac signs while encouraging critical thinking about personality claims.
