Abstract

This research aims to address the fundamentals of confirmatory factor analysis. The researcher focused on the methodological and functional aspects of this method, which are often absent or neglected, thereby moving away from the “technical perspective”—that is, focusing solely on the technical aspect, statistical proof, or purely quantitative methods at the expense of the theoretical implications of the scale. This was achieved by clarifying the various semantic and logical aspects of the confirmatory factor analysis method. The researcher divided the process of constructing the factor model to be tested into steps to facilitate understanding, employing, and applying the fundamentals of confirmatory factor analysis, without neglecting structural equation modeling, which is the essence of confirmatory factor analysis. Finally, concluding remarks were presented.
