Abstract

This paper presents a self-critical review of the "organizational cognitive erosion" concept previously proposed by the same author, testing its conceptual validity limits rather than defending it. The paper narrows the claim to a single, well-defined construct termed "Erosion of Independent Professional Judgment" (EIPJ), operationally distinguished from four adjacent constructs, and provides a five-dimensional operational definition along with explicit exclusion criteria. The paper explicitly acknowledges that one of its theoretical anchors remains an unsettled synthesis, and downgrades its reliance on a single study that was subsequently subject to a publisher correction.
